Admission to Education & Career Resources of GA is open to any individual 18 years or older.

Nursing Assistant 
The prerequisite for the Nursing Assistant Program is a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent for applicants from abroad, or completion of the 10th grade level. 

Medical Assistant 

​The prerequisites for the Medical Assistant Program is High School Diploma/GED/Equivalent. Applicants from abroad can use their high school diploma from the foreign country.

Medication Aide 
The prerequisite for the Medication Aide program is a current Georgia Nurse Aide certification. 

Patient Care Technician 
The prerequisites for the Patient Care Technician Program is High School Diploma/GED/Equivalent. Applicants from abroad can use their high school diploma from the foreign country. 
Prospective students should call or email the school to arrange for an initial interview. During the interview process the prospective student will receive information on areas such as job/career outlook, career paths, labor statistics, the institutions general policies and admission requirements. The student is then allowed to proceed to registration. The enrollee will be provided with the school catalog, given an overview of their expectations, general rules of the school and a tour of the facilities.
Application for registration and enrollment is required at least 5 business days prior to the scheduled start date for the program. All applicable fees and tuition deposit must be paid prior to start date. Students may drop or may be added to a program without penalty within the time frame outlined for each program.
You may qualify for financial assistance (grant or scholarship) under the US or state government workforce development programs.

Are you unemployed or underemployed? Have you been laid off?Training can unlock the door to well paying sustainable jobs in healthcare. You may qualify under the Workforce Investment Act.

DeKalb Career Pathway Forward Initiative Grant Opportunity
You are eligible if you are a DeKalb County Resident, 18 years and older who have lost your job due to COVID. 
$1500 available to offset cost of basic needs while they are in training. Basic needs are considered as mortgage assistance, food, utilities and transportation. Funds will be disbursed on a first come basis once deemed eligible and funding is limited.

How to apply

Step 1: Complete and submit an ECR of GA application form .

Step 2:  Apply for the DeKalb Career Pathway Forward Grant below. 

Please note the following documents must be uploaded during the registration process to determine if you qualify:
  • Proof of residency – State Issued ID, and a utility bill, or some document verifying your address to support the residency requirement 
  • Your ECR of GA proof of enrollment 
  • ​Unemployment Insurance documentation or termination/separation notice verification that your job ended due to COVID-19
